The Internal Audit Service conferences bring together auditors working in the public and private sectors from all over the world.

Each year we focus on a different theme relevant to the audit profession, attracting the participation of high-profile, key presenters who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our events.

This year we are organising our 15th conference:

"Innovation and creativity in internal audit: myth or reality?"

Objective of the Conference

The world is changing rapidly, more than most people realize. Our society and its economy face daily challenges that require ongoing innovations. The way to successfully run a company, an administration, or even a country, has to be adapted to this environment. Amongst others, technological innovations are having a major impact on organizations, their management needs and control systems. As auditors, we need to respond to this in a creative manner, so that we can further develop our role in helping managers to identify and mitigate relevant risks, to set up appropriate controls and improve key business processes. So, instead of spending our time responding rationally to a world which we understand and recognize, we need to realize that tomorrow all of this may have completely changed.

During this year's conference we shall recap on the historical importance of our profession and examine how wider professional and technological developments in society are affecting internal (and external) audit. We shall explore and debate the most innovative and creative developments in the auditing world and provide examples from those with professional experience in promoting change, designing and introducing new methodologies.

You will leave the conference more knowledgeable of the latest developments, with new ideas on how to approach your future internal audit work supported by the latest trends.

The event is relevant from the professional perspective for both managers and internal auditors. Although the conference touches upon various subjects related to innovation and creativity in general, where possible, a link with the public sector and management is made.
